The day after we did the 4WD Tour of the Flinders Ranges we took a scenic flight over the Ranges. Here are a couple of pix of Wilpena Pound with the caravan park in the foreground of the 2nd photo.
Next stop Broken Hill – What a fantastic place this was, lots of art galleries (Wally was heard to say “can we go to another art gallery today?”) and really interesting things to do a see. We took a trip out to a little ghost town called Silverton and spend the day there. Many movies have been made there including Mad Max II (I couldn’t find Mel, but touched lots things he probably did) Priscilla Queen of the Desert and others. There is a place nearby called Mundi Mundi plains and we were so impressed we went back at dusk to see the sunset.
This is one of the Art Galleries at Silverton
My Mad Max
